Okay, not a huge fan of the video but am totally turned on to LIGHTS. She's been inspiring a shit load of my writing and my general life, lately. Can't quit it. ^_^

Mojo magazine have been running a feature on The Wall in the past two issues. In the November issue they ran a big interview with Roger Waters and gave away part one of "The Wall: Rebuilt" which is the wall album entirely in cover versions - each song by a different band. The December issue (out now) gave away part two of the album. I missed the November issue and part one but I have ordered this from the magazines back issue department. Part two of the album is really good. If people get the chance to grab a copy of this its well worth it.

Roll the Bones is my most favorite Rush album. Test for Echo is probably second. I prefer a brighter sound. Vapor Trails is a very dark album. Snakes & Arrows also, to a lesser extent. Caress of Steel is very dark. And I'm not talking about the subject matter, I mean the sound itself. Dark and heavy versus bright, like sparkly acoustic guitar. More of a bounce in the rhythms. Quick, and light on its feet, not just fast or powerful. Melodies that build and rise. I'm not saying I don't like the darker stuff, just that the brighter stuff appeals more.

There's quite a split among fans on Test for Echo. I think it's a love-it-or-hate-it kind of album. I love it. For two reasons. One is that bright tone. It's very similar to Counterparts - those are probably their two most similar records. Counterparts is one of their dark albums. Another reason I like T4E is that its best songs are among my favorites. It's not their most consistent effort, but I tend to define records by my the songs I like, while some people tend to dislike records that have songs they don't like.

I'm not getting any of my comment notifications and LJ can kindly go die in a fire. Also, thats the last time I attempt to leave my house and do something productive. I got up and showered by 9 with the gutsy plan to go to post and do some Christmas shopping and check out the thrift store. Im about 2 steps out the door and Ryan has a case of explosive diarrhea. I go back inside to change him, put new clothes on, and start to leave again, and he shits AGAIN. @#$%^&*(! I finally make it all the way out to my car and get about 2 blocks away AND THERE IS A GODDAMNED TREE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. I should probably point out that we are having a windstorm of epic fucking proportions right now. So after waiting for the cops to unfuck themselves and figure out how they are going to divert traffic, I get past the fallen forest and keep on driving. Only to drive into a sandstorm. So we're all chugging along in traffic at about 10 miles an hour and out of nowhere comes flying a fucking construction sign. o.0 So, I made it through all the obstacles, get on post, get to the packed PX because by now its almost lunchtime.....and they are all out of the game I had gone there to buy.

Also, Im watching a commercial for Jack-in-the-Box and I am TRIPPING BALLS. He reminds me too much of a clown.
